ENN Launch- A Report


ENN – Elevator News Network & Helius, the US-based IP Technology Leader, bring in an exciting media to India – the first in Asia in providing 'LIVE' news and advertisements in elevators.

For the first time ever in Asia, elevator commuters in commercial and residential skyscrapers in India will have the opportunity to get the latest news on sports, stock market and other important developments and advertising messages.

ENN-Elevator News Network, a Mumbai-based company, in collaboration with the US-based Helius, a world leader in IP (Internet Protocol) Technology, launched this exciting new media in Mumbai today.

Mr. Anup Karnani, Managing Director, ENN, addressing a press conference in Mumbai said “This is a unique media tool that would deliver latest national and international news and advertising to thousands of elevator commuters, a captive audience, through television screens located in the elevators in high-rise commercial and residential buildings in various cities in India. Today, we have made a beginning by installing 22 screens in 12 buildings including BSE and Panchratna in Mumbai, and the occupants and visitors there would be in for a pleasant surprise to get the latest news on their favorite subjects even when they are on the move.”

To start with ENN is introducing this service in 120 elevators in different buildings in Mumbai where the television screens would beam news and advertising for 24 hours every day, which will have the support of 4 huge servers in Mumbai and 2 back-up servers in New York. ENN is already in the process of tying up with some of the prestigious commercial buildings, residential towers, 5-star hotels and shopping malls in Mumbai for this service. Simultaneously, the company is also in talks with advertisers, media and advertising agencies to include this unique communication tool in their media plans.

ENN has already tied up commercial buildings in New Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Gurgaon and Bangalore. By May 2008, ENN is set for a network of 500 screens. In the second phase, ENN has plans to increase its network by another 1500 screens by being present in Middle East and Pakistan, and is in the process of tying up arrangements in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.

ENN is installing flat panel, high resolution 15” inch screens in the elevators, which will leverage the internet to deliver news to the commuters. We have the capabilities of providing building or area specific advertising messages, which will be implemented as and when required by our clients”
